Global Equities Rebound as Falling Oil Prices Lift Tech Stocks

Global equity markets extended their recovery as lower oil prices eased energy concerns and technology and semiconductor stocks led gains across the US, Europe and Asia.
Global equity markets extended their rebound as easing oil prices improved investor sentiment and technology stocks emerged as the main driver of gains across major regions.
US equities led the recovery, with the S&P 500 rising 1.14% while the Nasdaq gained 1.69%. Semiconductor stocks were particularly strong, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index climbing 3.14% as investors increased exposure to the technology sector.
European markets also benefited from the pullback in energy prices. The STOXX 600 advanced 0.86%, marking its strongest daily performance in more than two months as lower oil prices reduced some pressure on inflation-sensitive assets.
Asian equities followed the global recovery. Japan's Nikkei 225 gained 1.67%, while South Korea's KOSPI rose 2.59%, supported by continued strength in semiconductor shares. Chinese markets also moved higher, with the CSI 300 gaining 1.05% and the Shanghai Composite adding 1.04%.
The broader market move highlights the growing influence of energy prices on global risk sentiment. A sustained decline in crude could reduce inflation concerns and support expectations for easier financial conditions, while renewed oil strength could put pressure back on equities and currencies.
MarketMindFX View: Technology and semiconductor stocks remain central to the current equity rebound, but the sustainability of the move will depend on oil prices, US economic data, Treasury yields and expectations for central-bank policy.
