Gold Rebounds as Oil Cools: XAU/USD Regains Momentum While Silver Jumps

Gold recovered sharply as easing oil prices and a softer dollar improved precious-metals sentiment, while silver also posted a strong rebound.

Gold is back in focus after recovering sharply as oil prices and the US Dollar eased following the Federal Reserve's latest rate decision. Spot gold rose about 1.8% to around $4,339.53 per ounce after touching a near six-week low. The rebound followed a decline in oil prices and a retreat in the dollar, which reduced some pressure on dollar-priced bullion. Silver also strengthened, rising about 2.2% to around $64.32 per ounce. The move highlights how quickly precious metals can respond when energy prices, Treasury yields and currency expectations shift together. The broader macro backdrop remains complicated. The Federal Reserve has raised rates and signaled that further tightening remains possible, which can normally weigh on non-yielding assets. At the same time, lower oil prices can ease inflation pressure and reduce expectations for aggressive rate increases, creating a more supportive environment for gold. MarketMindFX View: XAU/USD remains sensitive to the Dollar, Treasury yields and oil. Traders should watch whether gold can hold the $4,300 area after the rebound and whether silver maintains momentum above $64. Key Market Levels: Gold Support: $4,300, $4,250 Gold Resistance: $4,400, $4,450 Silver Support: $64.00, $63.00 Silver Resistance: $65.50, $66.00 Source: Reuters, September 17–18, 2026.
