Gold Holds Near $4,370 as Higher Yields Challenge Bullion Momentum

Gold remains near $4,370 as traders balance persistent geopolitical risks against higher interest-rate expectations, while silver trades around $66.
Gold started the week under pressure as higher Treasury yields and renewed expectations for tighter monetary policy weighed on the non-yielding metal.
Spot gold was around $4,355 to $4,370 per ounce in early trading, with prices slipping after a strong move in the previous week. Silver remained near $66 per ounce, showing relative resilience despite the pressure on precious metals.
The main challenge for bullion is the interest-rate outlook. The Federal Reserve recently raised rates and signaled that further tightening remains possible, while persistent inflation risks could keep yields elevated. Higher yields can increase the opportunity cost of holding non-interest-paying assets such as gold and silver.
At the same time, geopolitical uncertainty continues to provide a potential safe-haven demand channel. Oil prices have eased as investors assess the possibility of improving energy flows, but developments in the Middle East remain an important risk for inflation and financial markets.
MarketMindFX View: XAU/USD is now balancing between safe-haven demand and pressure from higher yields. The $4,300 area remains an important downside zone, while a recovery above $4,400 would put the recent highs back into focus.
